LAUDERDALE - A woman is suing her own insurance company for refusing to pay damages from an uninsured/underinsured motorist's negligent driving.

The Plaintiff, Toni R. Skiles, filed a complaint on September 7, 2016 in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court against Sandra L. Thompson and Progressive American Insurance Company alleging the uninsured/underinsured motorist, Sandra, negligently operated a motor vehicle, causing it to collide with Toni's vehicle. She also alleges her insurance, Progressive, refuses to pay damages she received from the at-fault driver.

According to the complaint, Sandra was an uninsured/underinsured motorist who negligently and carelessly operated a vehicle so as to cause a collision with Toni. Toni's insurance, Progressive, included uninsured/underinsured motorist benefits in which they refused to pay. Due to the accident, Toni suffered injuries including, but not limited to; disability, pain and suffering, and loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life.

The Plaintiff demands judgment against Sandra L. Thompson and Progressive Insurance for compensatory damages in excess of $15,000.00, costs, and also requests a trial by jury of all issues. She is represented by Ricky D. Gordon, Esq. of the Law Offices of Ricky D. Gordon, P.A. in Coconut Creek.
