HALLANDALE BEACH - Walmart is being sued for negligence by a Broward County resident. 

A complaint was filed on October 4, 2016 in the 17th judicial circuit court against Walmart Stores, Inc alleging negligence after a slip and fall that occurred two years earlier.

According to the complaint, September 15, 2014, Dejanira Bernadino was in Walmart when an unknown substance that was left on the floor caused her to slip and fall. Upon information and belief, said fall was caused by the existence of water that had puddled. As a result, the Plaintiff suffered mental and physical handicap, disfigurement, and loss of income, among other damages. 

The Plaintiff alleges negligence in that the Defendant failed to properly maintain the premises in a safe manner to avoid any dangerous conditions that can lead to a slip and fall. Plaintiff also alleges the Defendant failed to warn her about the existing dangerous condition.

The Plaintiff prays or entry of a judgment against the Defendant in an amount in excess of $15,000 plus costs and demands trial by jury. The Plaintiff is represented by Michael W. Wallace, Esq. of Robert J. Fenstersheib & Associates, P.A.in Hallandale Beach.
