CITY OF HOLLYWOOD - Landlords, Robert and Liris Lecointre, are being sued for negligence after failing to maintain rented property for tenants and causing a slip and fall.
Kayaswonna Shaw rented a unit owned my the Defendants. According to the complaint, Shaw warned the Defendants multiple times about the ceiling in her unit leaking rain water because of a faulty roof.
The Defendants decided to cover the roof with a tarp that was insufficient and defective rather than fixing the faulty roof. The complaint states that the tarp was too small and not well affixed and failed to stop the leak from happening.
Due to the tenants' negligence, on September 17, 2012, Shaw slipped and fell on the slippery wet tile floor, sustaining serious injuries.
Shaw now demands judgment for damages in excess of $15,000 and is represented by Charles Vernikoff, Esq. in Miami Beach.
