LAUDERHILL - A pregnant woman living in Broward County alleges two counts of negligence against the property and management of her building that caused her to slip and fall in her bathroom
Dominique Bush filed a complaint on October 3, 2016 against United Property Management, Inc. and 2500 Inverrary Club Apartments, LLC. after they failed to properly maintain the premises in a safe condition.
According to the complaint, on June 11, 2015 she called maintenance to report a leak in her bathroom. They responded in the afternoon but left around 3pm and said they did not have the correct supplies to fix the problem. They never returned. She called again to remind them that this was the only bathroom in her apartment and that she needed it fixed urgently. However, still, no one arrived.
Later that night, she entered the bathroom not knowing that there was a slippery substance on the floor. She slipped and fell and therefore sustained serious, permanent injuries.
She alleges that both entities were negligent in failing to maintain the apartment in a reasonably safe condition, free from any transitory substance that might give rise to an injury, in addition to failing to warn the Plaintiff of the dangerous condition.
Dominique Bush prays for entry judgment against United Property Management, Inc. and 2500 Inverrary Club Apartments, LLC., individually, in an amount in excess of $15,000, plus costs, and the Plaintiff further demand trial by jury of all issues in this cause so triable as a matter of right.
The Plaintiff is represented by Michael W. Wallace of Robert J. Fernstersheib & Associates, P.A. in Hallandale Beach.
